| Since leaving
the London College of Furniture in 1991 (as a mature student), I have
worked with my own handmade paper. In my work I try to explore the relevance of 'dress' to 'identity' and the interaction between 'wearer' and 'observer' by using the image of empty clothing. The interpretation can be on a personal level or as an indication of a larger historical context. The process of papermaking is vitally important to me and the work. The selection and preparation of the fibre, processing the fibre into pulp, then forming it into sheets of paper which I use in wet sheet form to make the piece. Working with the freshly made sheets of wet paper enables the final pieces to be made without the use of glue, stitching or armatures. Contact: Seaholme East Bracklesham Drive Bracklesham Bay W.
