After studying Architecture at the University of Sheffield, and subsequently working in London in an architect's office, my interest grew in brochure design and in the art of papermaking and collages.

My enjoyment lies in the discovery of unexpected harmonies with simple materials and consciously not filling in all the available space. The beauty of paper is its random quality, and the satisfaction of creating something from materials that are normally thrown away...

I make paper from waste paper, and also plants including apple, leek, grass, banana, rhubarb..etc, as well as vegetable papyrus. I then use the paper in other forms, often utilising its character to shape 'stories' in the form of specialised greetings cards and larger works.

I currently have an open studio and art centre in the harbourside town of Tholen in the Netherlands with my Dutch partner who is an etcher and watercolour artist. I regularly give demonstrations and classes in papermaking to adults and children.
